A volunteer reading teacher in Tooele County is accused of groping a 10-year-old girl who asked for help reading a difficult word.

The girl had asked for help Monday at West Elementary School when the teacher, 73, approached her, police wrote in charges filed Wednesday. The teacher "put his arms under her arms and grabbed her chest over her clothes," police wrote. He then told the girl "she was becoming a young woman," and the girl pushed his hands away, police wrote.

The teacher was charged with first-degree-felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child.
